Dronning Eufemias gate 16 – the only multi-user building in Barcode in Oslo.

Dronning Eufemias gate 16 is a modern skyscraper in Barcode in Oslo, designed by Dark Arkitekter. It looks like an «S» lying on its side, with a curtain wall façade designed in black aluminium sheets and glass, which collectively create a «pixelated façade». Its main shape is emphasised by using recessed, vertical glass sections in conjunction with exposed steel cross-bracing.

The building’s location along Stasjonsallmenningen, where this meets Dronning Eufemias gate, is ideal in terms of its proximity to Oslo Central Station and the public transport system. Its closest neighbour is Akrobaten, the pedestrian bridge which connects Bjørvika with the city behind, and this means that large numbers of people pass the commercial premises at street level on a daily basis. This building is also the only one to offer office premises on the 16 th floor facing out towards Dronning Eufemias gate.

Dronning Eufemias gate 16 is a multi-user building with 15 tenants. The building accommodates approx. 1,200 office work stations, which are spread across eight full office floors, each measuring approx. 1,875 sqm., as well as five upper floors each measuring approx. 1,250 sqm. The layout of the office floors is fully flexible as regards to the distribution of cellular and open plan office layouts, and each floor can be sub-divided as required for smaller tenancies. The first four floors contain commercial premises, a common reception area, a meeting room department, an auditorium and a cafeteria.

The building’s design and the use of materials have been optimised in order to create pleasant, efficient office work stations, with the flexibility to meet current and future requirements for office solutions. Comfort has been exceptionally well addressed, with modern indoor climate technology, which when combined with efficient exploitation of the space involved, serves to make the whole building very environment friendly. Its energy classification is Green C. (Braathen Eiendom believes that this energy classification only provides a limited understanding of the building’s environmental impact. For example, it does not take into account the number of users per square metre or accessibility to environment friendly transport, etc.)

Braathen Eiendom Bjørvika AS, a company belonging to Braathen Eiendom, has 100% ownership in Dronning Eufemias gate 16.
